Building regenerative economies for the Amazon through innovation, technology, and local knowledge

Current Amazon economies are dominated by harmful extractive practices that provide short-term profits to large corporations and a few individuals, while degrading ecosystems and leaving local communities with minimal benefits.

We believe that through innovation, technology, and local knowledge, we can catalyze a paradigm shift towards more equitable and sustainable economies for the Amazon.

THE INITIATIVE

The Con X Tech Prize: The Amazon is a global competition that seeks cutting-edge science and tech innovations to transform the Amazon's destructive, extractive economies into modern, regenerative ones. Proposals are especially welcomed from innovators based in the Amazon region.

These solutions should protect the integrity of ecosystems, respect Indigenous peoples and local communities as well as their traditional knowledge, and support the fair distribution of the benefits generated from the commercialization of forest products and services.
