Sourcing innovation from every corner of the globe.
Open Innovation – the use of prizes and challenges, mass collaboration, and crowdsourcing – allows us to focus a massive community of solvers on the core constraints of the world’s toughest conservation problems.
Prizes and Challenges are global competitions to create solutions for a wicked conservation problem, with a cash prize for the most innovative and impactful ideas. They can focus a community around a problem, influencing perception of the problem, legitimizing the field solving it, and creating or stimulating markets. Rather than searching for the best possible ideas, you bring those ideas to you and reward tangible results.
These projects are hosted on our open community platform The Digital Makerspace, and our collaborative community of engineers, entrepreneurs, and conservationists helps contribute to the idea. Our work has galvanized communities of solvers to build new markets and products, revolutionize global technologies, and combat invasive species.
We run multi-million dollar prizes and challenges that are open to all entrants in order to harness the collective ingenuity of thousands of entrepreneurs, makers, engineers, researchers, and innovators.
The Digital Makerspace (DMS) is an online collaboration platform where science, entrepreneurship, and technology communities come together to start projects and co-create tech-enabled solutions to conservation problems.
