Gabriela Villegas currently serves as an Open Innovation Associate for the Amazon Program. She also supports event planning and execution, as well as devising marketing strategies for open innovation programs within the organization. She was responsible for designing and directing the execution of the Innovation XChange, an event in Lima, Peru, attended by 600 people, as part of the Accelerating Innovation for Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Operations in the Amazon.

Gabriela has over 8 years of experience leading innovation and digital transformation projects and initiatives in various industries, including Banking, Education, Entertainment, and Communications. She also has extensive experience in organizing open innovation events such as hackathons, prizes, mentorship, and incubator programs. She has developed and supported initiatives for organizations such as Startup UPC, Global Shapers Uruguay, and Data Science Research Peru, where she served as Co-Director of Research, Project Development, and Innovation. Gabriela has also mentored and advised startups and entrepreneurs focused on developing new products and services for social and environmental impact.

Gabriela holds a professional title in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Process Improvement from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences, and an International Diploma in Business and Leadership from Lehigh University. She also has specializations and certifications in Marketing, Innovation, and Agile Methodologies.
