Sourcing innovation from every corner of the globe.
Open Innovation – the use of prizes and challenges, mass collaboration, and crowdsourcing – allows us to harness planetary genius and focus a growing community of innovators on the world’s toughest conservation problems. Conservation X Labs has sourced and supported hundreds of innovations to some of the world’s most pressing issues, mobilizing millions of dollars for solutions.
We use this Open Innovation approach to:
Spark and support new project ideas. We support new ideas from a collaborative community of engineers, entrepreneurs, and conservationists on our open community platform The Digital Makerspace.
Run global competitions for conservation. We reward cash prizes to the best solutions for specific conservation problems through our Grand Challenges. Challenges galvanize communities of solvers to build new markets and products, revolutionize global technologies, and reward tangible results.
Our Open Innovation work has generated solutions to combat invasive species, create sustainable textiles, protect the Amazon rainforest, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and more.
We award millions of dollars through prizes and challenges that are open to anyone and everyone to harness the collective ingenuity of all entrepreneurs, makers, engineers, researchers, and innovators.
The Digital Makerspace (DMS) is an online collaboration platform where science, entrepreneurship, and technology communities come together to start projects and co-create tech-enabled solutions to conservation problems.
