Amnol Kandola

+ Anmol Kandola

Hi, I'm Amnol!

I'm a Product Manager at CXL, and a member of the Schmidt Futures TGT program. On the NABIT team, I'm conducting user research with assay developers to build a Molecular Development Kit, and helping identify commercial manufacturers in emerging markets to facilitate the field-deployment of test kits.

I received my BA in Computer Science from Columbia University, and before CXL, worked as a PM at Uno Health, a startup focused on matching low-income seniors to non-clinical services by enrolling them in programs they are eligible for. Prior to Schmidt Futures, I worked as a Software Engineer at Amazon, validating incoming seller data for the global catalog infrastructure, and as the APM of integrations at EliseAI, a conversational AI prop-tech startup.

Atharva Vispute

+ Atharva Vispute

Hi, I'm Atharva!

I’m a Robertson Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill, studying computer science and chemistry. My passion lies in utilizing computer science as a tool in various fields, including conservation research, renewable energy, and chemistry.

Currently, at CXL, I'm working on the AI pipeline for building models used in Sentinels. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, running, and playing tennis, and doing origami.

Jocelyn Zhu

+ Jocelyn Zhu

Hi, I'm Jocelyn!

I'm a rising junior completing my undergraduate degree at MIT, double majoring in Computer Science and Business Management. I explore both my interests as a summer intern with the Sentinel team, conducting research in ML pipeline development while learning more about product development and fundraising at a non-profit.

I'm interested in the technology application space, especially in education and conservation, and look forward to learning more about real-world impact at CXL, as well as continue my education after MIT. Outside of school and my time researching Sentinel development, I particularly enjoy mixed-media visual art, music, and travel.

Tanvi Siddhaye

+ Tanvi Siddhaye

Hi, I'm Tanvi!

I'm an Open Innovation Intern helping CXL launch the Fire Grand Challenge. I'm passionate about using market forces to invite innovative solutions that serve communities that have been historically most affected by the environmental crisis.

I'm a rising third year at the University of Chicago studying Economics and Environmental and Urban Studies. Last summer, I worked with the Interstate Renewable Energy council to develop criteria to help communities address energy equity concerns in deploying renewables. I'm eager to see how clean energy and electrification can simultaneously support conservation efforts and a greener supply chain. I' m excited to bring my previous experience to the CXL team and be a part of this unique environmental organization.

Nafesa Roshan

+ Nafesa Roshan

Hi, I'm Nafesa!

I am an Afghan grad student at Brandeis University, specializing in Economic Development and Sustainable International Development for my master's thesis.

I have over 4 years of experience working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation. During this time, I have been actively involved in various sustainable development and migration management projects. I am a part of CXL's Afghan Environmental Defenders program.

Asmi Kumar

+ Asmi Kumar

Hi, I’m Asmi!

I'm an undergraduate student at MIT studying Computer Science & Engineering and Mathematics. Over the past few years, I've worked on predicting autistic meltdowns, mapping poverty with satellite imagery, applying data science to optimize radiologists’ search patterns, and building an AI-powered therapy platform for cortical visual impairment (which I presented at the 2022 Nobel Prize Ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden!). I'm also an accomplished pianist.

At CXL, I'm analyzing video data from trail cameras to identify changing behavior and neurological diseases in animals for the Sentinel team. I'm working on improving the AI/ML behavior analysis model and exploring new image classification processes.

Jayeesh Chennupati

+ Jayeesh Chennupati

Hi, my name is Jayeesh!

I'm a rising fourth year at UVA studying BME paired with an Economics minor. I'm planning to go into consulting once I graduate(wow, that sounds a bit scary, going off into the big world), specifically I would like to work on consulting projects that explore how business can create impact in the fields of social impact and global development. I'm currently thinking of an MBA, and after that, the world is my oyster and would like to address a variety of issues from different narratives of suffering. In the far future (or close - who knows), I'd like to create my own company that creates sustainable and low-cost solutions or strategies to address the issues that I discover.

At CXL, I'm basically getting to replicate my future plans (I know right, talk about a dream internship), by helping them create their own start-up studio that will aid the creation of conservation-focused ideas and ventures. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can about how to enable impact. Outside of learning how to create impact and chasing it, I like exploring various built and natural environments, especially sources of water, with my younger brother and loyal walking companion, Teddy (he's a doggo). I'm also learning to speak Telugu, I can understand it pretty well and Telugu movies are my favorite, and have gotten better at it in the recent year by attempting to sing some songs. Being part of two cultures they usually bleed into each other a lot. (for me it was the accents).

At UVA, I'm currently on a dance team, Virginia Ke Aashiq, which has challenged me to do better in so many ways, and I also play frisbee and used to be a competitive track runner who did hurdles.

Meghfira Mohammed

+ Meghfira Mohammed

Hi, I'm Meg!

I'm a rising fourth-year student at the University of Chicago, studying Political Science and Environmental and Urban Studies. I'm excited to be joining CXL this summer as the Textile Circularity Challenge Intern.

My work experience to date spans a variety of different fields, from clinical law to journalistic research. I'm excited to see how I can learn from my new position and colleagues, and hope to usefully bring some of my own skills to the table as well.

I’ve always been passionate about conservation on the whole, especially in relation to combatting deforestation and textile waste. I’m looking forward to working more closely on the latter point with the textiles team in support of a scaled, circular system for the fashion industry.

Lastly, outside of CXL and my professional interests, I enjoy running, photography, and writing.

Maanit Goel

+ Maanit Goel

Hi, I'm Maanit! I'm an intern for the Thylacine team at CXL, based out of the Seattle area. My work at CXL lies primarily in NABIT thermal, optical, and molecular testing and characterization. I will be entering my senior year at Eastlake High School this fall.

I have 4 years of experience in environmental and political advocacy, and currently chairs the WA Legislative Youth Advisory Council under the Lt. Governor's office. It's an honor to be recognized as a '23 Environmental Education 30 under 30 Honoree, whose work has been featured in the Seattle Times & awarded by the EPA.

Trey Clark

+ Trey Clark

Hi, I'm Trey!

I'm a rising second year at the University of Chicago and intend to major in computer science as well as economics with a focus in business. I'm going to assist CXL this summer with their Sentinel website to make it more "user friendly".

My previous experience ranges from various app and website design challenges, competitions that lead me to theorizing improvements upon quantum encryption protocols, and holding positions such as being the VP of UChicago robotics. I do feel this expanding list of experiences assisted me in obtaining the opportunity I have with CXL; however, I feel my passion, and ever present concern for conservation led me to CXL.

Besides academics and attempting to expand my portfolio, I spend my time baking, tinkering with small projects, and traveling when I can.
